Erica’s creative endeavor provides a unique opportunity for AYA cancer patients to share their thoughts and feelings, and it’s through their creative expression that viewers gain a glimpse into an AYA survivor’s perspective.
A message from Erica:
❝ This project started as a simple (albeit terribly unlit) self-portrait that allowed me to feel ownership of my opinions and emotions. Kristian, my first "breastie" and co-founding president of the San Diego non-profit Pink Strength, was first to participate, giving me confidence that this could be something. The Under the Pencil Interactive Art Event is proudly joined by Pink Strength and their incredibly passionate team. Pink Strength's mission is to redefine life with cancer, and they certainly have helped me do so in more ways than one.
